What I'll be doing my TFM about

Awareness and Prejudice and Conflict Reduction in the First Period of Secondary Education: Prevention of LGTBphobia

After reading yesterday a piece of news about a shooting in Colorado in a gay bar where five people died, I decided I had to do my TFM about how to erradicate homophobia (or at least try) at young ages.

Homophobia in the classroom at school is very common, and teachers don't usually do much to prevent it. Most LGBT teens get bullied by their classmates, and I believe the problem most of the times is their parents, that don't educate them for tolerance and diversity. This sort of harassment is generally associated with the clothing, hobiies or they way they speak, and consequently restricting the development of their own identity. This is why it is often said that LGBT teens, live their truly teen years in their twenties.

What I will try to do on my paper is to propose and implement proposals to improve the situation in the following years and considerably reduce the rate of LGBTphobia harassment and thus raise awareness among teenagers of the existence of memeber of the LGBT community, not to mention the importance of schools, which must guarantee students the right to education in a safe and inclusive environment.

But I don't this just to be one more paper that your teachers read, you get a grade and forget about it. I promised mysel to be one of those teachers that students can feel safe with when they are facing a problem and support them in any way I can.
